I was referred to Mercury Homesearch by a friend. Although I already own property in London and have numerous property investments elsewhere, I had been advised that Jeremy could find me a better apartment than I would be able to and negotiate a better price, so I asked him to represent me.

Initially, I was surprised at how few properties he was showing me, but he assured me that he was unimpressed with what he was seeing and that I would have been wasting my time viewing them. This was a refreshing change to being sent all manner of unsuitable suggestions.

There is one fundamental question I ask when looking for advisers: are they trustworthy?

I live in India and wanted to buy a home in Belgravia, Knightsbridge or Mayfair for my family. Although I am a director of one of the largest property companies in India, I have had little experience of prime London market. He then recommended a target purchase price providing comparable details, so that I could be sure that I would be making a good acquisition.

He then carried out the negotiations successfully and was extremely diligent in ensuring that the transaction proceeded as smoothly as possible – he recommended an excellent solicitor and surveyor and co-ordinated with my team in India. He even arranged for a security system to be installed ready for completion as we would not be there.

In addition it was a pleasure to work with him as the service was impeccable: from providing chauffeur driven cars, to recommending restaurants and places for my family to visit. Everything we asked for was handled swiftly and efficiently. I look forward to having him represent us again in the future.
