The £15m+ market & something completely different

Andy Burnham has completed his first week as Prime Minister.

Unsurprisingly, there have been no major announcements yet but it is clear that he is a far better communicator than Starmer.

Meanwhile, you may have read reports about how the £15m+ market has been more active this year with 34 transactions worth £1.24 billion compared to the first half of 2025 which saw just 27 deals worth £694.1 million.

I’ll be looking into this and much more in my August Prime London Property Trends Letter which will be published next week.

So, I’m going to keep this brief as you may well be preparing to head off on holiday. And as an incredibly unsubtle plug, I am going to recommend a couple of books written by friends of mine.

The first is Charlie Cumming – hailed as one of the best contemporary writers of spy fiction – whose latest book Icarus 17 has just been released. It is on The Times’ “Four Great Thrillers to read this July” round-up and was selected as “Thriller of the Month” by the Sunday Times: “Cumming’s storytelling is… dynamic, resembling a deadly version of the TV show ‘Race Across the World’.

My second recommendation is rather different. Pizza Pete is a popular children’s comedy-adventure book series for which Carrie Sellon became The Week Junior Book Awards Winner 2024.

I hope you find one or other of these interesting and that you are having a wonderful summer.
